Henson.com Website

In 2015, The Jim Henson Company began redesigning their corporate website. As we started planning for the build it became apparent that the scope of the work, the budget, the functionality, and the end user were all unclear. To bring the project into sharper focus, I initiated and performed stakeholder surveys with each company department, individually, to gather their requirements and preferences. By providing a forum for each stakeholder department to make their voices heard, this process also facilitated project buy-in from each group.

Using the data generated by the stakeholder survey, my team and I created a Kano chart to prioritize content, features, and functionality. With our priorities set, we performed a card sort to architect the site and created a content inventory to insure we received the necessary content from each department, in accordance with our timeline and in full.

From here, I oversaw the creation of formal documents laying out the project plan, scope, and requirements and specs. This allowed me to create an accurate budget and clarified the steps needed to complete the project on time and feature-complete.

In success, the end web design balances a clean and user-friendly interface that’s easy to navigate, with crisp, colorful, and engaging imagery that is consistent with the company’s corporate branding.
